Today, many companies in Russia are in the active phase of transition to domestic software products within the framework of import substitution policy. Both state and commercial organizations are involved in this process. Among them is JSC "CPTI", specializing in the design of nuclear industry facilities and civil construction for Rosatom's fuel company "TVEL".

The company "CPTI" has several branches in Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The main activity is the design of facilities of the fuel company "TVEL" using information modeling technologies. Previously, the company used foreign software products Revit, AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault for the development and management of projects. Now, as part of the import substitution policy, the company is switching to Renga , nanoCAD and Pilot-BIM , as well as Model Studio CS, which, unlike other products, has difficulties working on Astra Linux.

So what risks did CPTI face when implementing this transition? The answer to this and related questions was given by Alexey Evstigneev, Head of the Information Modeling Department at the company, as part of the 2024 Summer BIM Forum. Read a brief overview of his speech in this article.

Stages of transition to domestic software
The expert admitted that the project to integrate domestic software products turned out to be quite labor-intensive. However, the company has already managed to implement the first two stages:

System design – creation of technical documentation and selection of solutions to replace foreign software.
Implementation of the system - introduction of domestic products and conducting trial operation in several branches.
At the moment, the CPTI is introducing the selected domestic solutions into industrial operation and switching to their permanent use. The basis of the new system is the Pilot BIM product, which supports the Astra Linux operating system used in the company. The choice in favor of this OS was made primarily for the purpose of ensuring information security.

Main risks
In the process of switching to Russian software products, JSC CPTI encountered the following key risks:

Lack of certification of software products .
The absence of an FSTEC certificate for Pilot-BIM software may make it impossible to fully implement it into industrial operation.
