However, Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy

he situation today?
A spectacular arrest, detention in inhumane conditions by the Japanese authorities, a " political-industrial plot ". All these questions are raised by the entourage of the accused, his lawyers and now French parliamentarians.

The latter have rightly urged the French state to work to repatriate Carlos Ghosn to France and ensure him "a fair trial". They believe that since the beginning of the case, the international treaties on human rights that Japan, a member of the G7, has ratified, have been violated on several occasions.

and Finance, refused to "interfere" in this investor database matter. He imposed a final refusal on them. According to him, Japan is a "sovereign and friendly state", so there is no need to interfere in this matter. He also considered that he and the French government had made "all the choices that were respectful of the presumption of innocence of Carlos Ghosn and of Japanese justice ".

In any case, Carlos Ghosn's lawyers intend to adopt a radical line of defense; they intend to plead not guilty to all the charges against their client and to highlight the numerous irregularities that would taint the prosecution.

A conspiracy?
After 20 years of hard work in Japan, the ex-boss says " the merger of Renault and Nissan was seen as a threat to Nissan's independence and its autonomy which must be based on performance " and that performance was not good in recent years.

Wouldn't the prosecution of Carlos Ghosn be a way to nip the Renault-Nissan merger project in the bud? Wouldn't he be the victim of a plot? Is this a new economic war for Nissan to free itself from French guardianship? The trial of Carlos Ghosn, which could well open in April 2020 in Japan, will have to last months or even years with some answers eagerly awaited.
