Digital information models (DIM) play an important role in improving the quality of design documentation at the stage of state examination. They are also actively used in the supervisory body itself to analyze and improve design solutions. Experts can view germany phone number list the project in detail in a three-dimensional environment and find discrepancies that are difficult to detect in a two-dimensional format.

One example of such work with the CIM was given by the representative of the State Expertise of the Perm Territory, Ara Khachatryan. As part of the September BIM breakfast, he spoke about the reasons for checking the model, the benefits of visualization when searching for clashes, a convenient format for issuing comments, and also gave an example of the identified discrepancies.

We recently published a review of a speech on current issues in the field of state expertise. You can read it here .

Stages of digital model verification
The process begins with checking the design requirements. A State Expertise specialist checks whether the technical specifications include a condition for using information modeling. Then he or she analyzes the digital model in several key areas, ensuring that the design documentation complies with all norms and standards. This task consists of several stages.

The quality of geometric development of model elements directly affects the accuracy and reliability of design documentation. Models are provided in the open IFC format, where each element is classified according to the standard. This simplifies the understanding of the structure and content of the CIM, since a human-readable classification is used.

Checking the attribute component and searching for collisions
Each element of the model has attributes. On their basis, specifications and statements are formed, in which volumetric characteristics are specified. Then these documents are used to compare data with design documentation. Also at this stage, intersecting and duplicate elements are identified and a conclusion is issued for their elimination.

Analysis of design solutions
The use of CIM allows for the effective identification and elimination of discrepancies between different sections of design documentation.

“Checking design solutions for more than two sections is quite a difficult task,” the expert explained.
