One of the main agents behind VoIP, SIP is essential for implementing digital telephony in your business. Check out this post for more details about the technology and why it is so important for your company.

The advantages provided by implementing VoIP telephony usa phone number lists in companies are numerous. Companies seeking to improve their service levels and reduce costs have found digital telephony to be an excellent alternative. However, for it to work, it is necessary to introduce SIP.

What is SIP?
In its literal translation, SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol. Its function is to establish, modify and terminate multimedia sessions , i.e. audio and video calls and online conferences, for example. It is also through SIP that it becomes possible to use proxy servers and incorporate fixed ports for all devices, thus increasing the security of the internal network.

Its programming is entirely text-based, making it possible to use languages such as Java and Pearl. With its implementation, all requests from clients are sent to the internal network server, which, after processing, is sent back to the client. SIP has three types of servers, each with its own particularity and function: proxy, redirection and registration. See below for more details about each of the servers:

Proxy Server
When receiving a request, the proxy is responsible for analyzing which domain the message refers to and thus forwarding it. The objective is to facilitate the exchange of SIP protocol messages, and it is the server responsible for finding the UA of the target of the request.

Redirection Server
This server, like the Proxy, is also responsible for facilitating the location of the recipient of a SIP request, but it does not perform forwarding. Instead, it responds to the source UA with the path to reach the recipient's UA, without getting directly involved in the communication.

Registration Server
This server centralizes all data related to the UA location database. When it receives a registration request, it updates the proxy and redirection server database for the recipient's location, sending a success message.

With its implementation, it is possible to make audio and video calls through any device. In short, SIP is a necessary mechanism for the implementation of VoIP telephony.
